A fast-growing, medium-sized deciduous tree with inconspicuous little lime-green flowers tinged red in April, followed by expansive, intense purple leaves which glow orange in the autumn. Vigorous and tolerant of both pollution and drought, but prefers a sheletered aspect in sun or partial shade. Height and spread in 10 years 6m x 4m.
