A deciduous spiny shrub with intense deep, dark purple colours and rounded velvety leaves. The new growth is red and shows up nicely against the deep dark purple of the older foliage. Small inconspicuous flowers are follwed by little red fruits. Great planted in containers or sunny garden borders with well-drained soil. Height and spread 70cm.
